Welcome to the
Lower Deschutes Managing Agencies

Boater Pass System

Recent wildfire activity destroyed the composting toilet and burned the campsites at Johnson Flat, mile 62.8 river left. Wildfire season continues. In the event of a wildfire on the river, please follow these guidelines:

  • Follow all directions of emergency personnel staffing a fire
  • Observe firefighters operations from a distance
  • Avoid helicopters dipping buckets or other overhead flights
  • Watch out for other boats and rafts that may be watching the fire and not you
  • Pull-out on the opposite side of the river from a fire
